Meet Dr. Stephanie Amerson

Since I was a junior in high school, I dreamed of becoming an orthodontist. Receiving orthodontic treatment truly changed my life for the better! From that experience, I wanted to create that life changing difference for others. Not only is orthodontics a profession that allows me to transform smiles, it is a junction of science and art – both areas of interest I am passionate about. I am incredibly excited to be able to serve you through taking care of your lovely smile and witnessing your journey along the way!

I was born and raised in Union Grove, a small town nestled in the piney woods of East Texas. I attended Union Grove Elementary and High School before venturing to Nacogdoches to receive a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University (Go Jacks!), and graduated summa cum laude and with the distinction as the Baker Patillo Student Leader of the Year. Upon graduation from SFA, I attended The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston and was honored with induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. Following dental school graduation, I continued my dental education with a three-year orthodontic residency program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center at Memphis, a program that only 4 residents are admitted to each year from across the United States.

While not practicing orthodontics, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Andrew, and mini–Australian Shepherd, Ellie. My husband and I are both very competitive when it comes to strategic board games and love to play against our family and friends. Walking and hiking together is another favorite pastime of ours, especially with Ellie, and our eventual goal is to visit all 63 United States National Parks! In my spare time I enjoy reading at local coffee shops, so if you know of anyone good ones, let me know! I am looking forward to meeting you and treating your healthy, beautiful smile.
